The Exuma Islands, located in the middle of The Islands of the Bahamas, remain mostly undisturbed. The Exuma Islands are a collection of some 365 cays and islands stretching over 120 miles, with the two main islands, Great Exuma and Little Exuma, to the south. Exuma boasts pristine reefs, stunning beaches and excellent anchorages. It is also home to the Caribbean area's first marine fishery reserve. Here is the 176 sq. mile "Exuma Cays Land and Sea Park", the world's first land and sea area to be declared a national park. The average year-round temperature is a perfect 78°F, and the rolling hills, wide sandy beaches and brilliant, clear blue waters give life to some of the earth's more spectacular creatures. Snorkelers will find the wide, shallow coastal region teeming with life and easy to explore, while divers can explore the huge coral reef or Exuma Sound which is filled with caves, blue holes and shipwrecks. George Town on Great Exuma is the capital of The Exuma Islands. Visit the straw market for some authentic Bahamian crafts and enjoy the architecture of the Government Administration Building. Walk around George Town - enjoy the atmosphere, shops, restaurants, grocery stores, and local businesses that encircle the lake. Have some cracked conch and drink a Kalik (the Bahamas' own beer). Every year in late April, George Town's Elizabeth Habour hosts the annual week-long Family Island Regatta.			-
